Mac Fusion

June 9th, 2008 · No Comments

TUAW is reporting that Apple is about to release a developer platform called “Mac Fusion”, which can run Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows.

A couple of posters in the comments thread there think that this is really going to tick off VMWare, since they already have a product called VMWare fusion.

I think they’re looking at this the wrong way. I’d bet that Apple has done a deal with VMWare to distribute VMWare Fusion with that new hardware. If that’s true, it’s going to be a big shot in the arm for VMWare…. and not so much for Parallels.

Update: No such announcement at the WWDC keynote. Sorry folks, move along…

MacBook Air Thrown Out By Accident

March 11th, 2008 · No Comments

MacBook Air

How embarrassing would this be to explain? Steven Levy, tech writer for Newsweek, had his MacBook Air accidently thrown away with some newspapers. Newsweek is going to pony up the $1800 to replace it, but still… wonder what the conversation to explain that must have been like?
